Children’s Liturgy

Children’s Liturgy (Little Church)[slideshow gallery_id=”4″]

Anne Lyon led Little Church on the feast of the Baptism of the Lord.  The children learnt about Jesus’ baptism in the river Jordan, and looked at the image of John baptising Jesus in our stained glass window in church.  Later we talked about how Jesus’ baptism was a little different to baptisms today.  Some of the children demonstrated how babies are baptised today in church, and we all had fun doing it – as you can see from the photo’s.

We also talked about how the Holy Spirit is often depicted as a dove, and all the children were able to colour a dove to hang up at home to help them remember to try hard to be as the Holy Spirit wants us to.

Boys and girls who have made their First Holy Communion are welcome to serve on the altar.  Please tell Fr Michael if you child would like to participate in this way.  Training is given by the group leader.

Readers operate a rota system.  If you would like to read at mass, please contact  Sue Robson via the parish office.

Our children are an important group in our parish.  We have a rota system for Little Church leaders, and are always glad to welcome new leaders.  Support is given to leaders to assist them in preparing the liturgy for our Little Church. Please get in touch with Anne Lyon if you feel you would like to become involved.
