Appointed eight Cardinals from five continents to help him govern and reform the church , beginning with the reform of the Curia amid concerns about corruption and mismanagement in the central  administration of the Church.

The appointment of this team  has been described as “the most important step in the history  of the Church for the past 10 centuries.
