Simon helps Jesus carry his Cross

We adore Thee, O Christ, and we praise Thee.

Because by Thy Holy Cross Thou hast redeemed the World.

The Cross is becoming too heavy for Jesus.
A passer-by is forced to help lighten the burden.  Jesus accepts gratefully.  Jesus needed Simon.  That small gesture of charity would never be forgotten.

Lord, sometimes we find it burdensome to involve ourselves with people.
Teach us that the essence of Christianity is love; that every person is our neighbour.
Help us to recognise you especially in the poor, the sick and the elderly.
May we do the menial tasks that no one else will take on.
Make us humble enough to accept help from others.
Thank you, Lord, for the good neighbours and friends
who bring us sunshine, laughter and love.

Let us proclaim the Mystery of Faith.
Dying you destroyed our death.
Rising you restored our life.

Lord Jesus, come in glory.

I love Thee Jesus, my love above all things;
I repent with my whole heart for having offended Thee.
Never permit me to separate myself from Thee again.
Grant that I may love Thee always and then do with me what Thou wilt.
