SCRIPTURE<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Luke\u2019s gospel the disciples sense that Jesus is drawing his Wisdom, calm, strength and power from somewhere beyond himself, that he is grounding himself\u00a0 in something beyond both the enticements and threats of the present moment. Their hunch is that he is finding this depth in prayer (Rolheiser).<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWhile Jesus after his own baptism was at prayer, heaven opened\u00a0 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily shape like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, \u201cYou are my son, the beloved; my favour rests on you\u201d.<\/p>\n
