\nThe crowd taunt him with madness, failure and folly.\u00a0<\/em>
\nJesus prays for his murderers:\u00a0 \u201cFather, forgive them . . .\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/h4>\n
Lord, our God,
\nwe ask you to forgive us.\u00a0 Forgive us for the suffering we cause to others,
\nfor our lack of understanding, for nursing grudges, for keeping up resentments, for not admitting when we are wrong,
\nfor the bitterness and spite we often feel towards others.
\nCreate a new heart within us, give us a spirit of reconciliation and forgiveness.\u00a0 Where sin has brought division and hostility,
\nmay your love bring healing and strength; where sin has brought death,
